Okay, I was in a haze of travel, work, and layoffs around the time this (the review mentioned in a sec) was written, so excuse if this is a repeat for any of you.
Some of you Know (as in SAVOIR, baby!) (and I'm informing the rest of you shut-ins!) that Joss Whedon (O Creator de Firefly, El Jefe, etc) had a little project called
Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Well, it's now available on
DVD (at Amazon.com) fo like, $10.50. SHEESH! BUY! FOR THE WIN, already!
anyway, I have been singing (on loop.) the Commentary! the Musical (an optional commentary track on the DVD...and, um, another musical)...
Epic win-ness. Srsly. (!!!!!!!)
So, saw this
Celebrity Blog thingie by Joss which is a review of the DVD. OMFG.
The extras (Eternal life, Europe, Bees) were mostly exciting. There is a whole second musical, called "Commentary!", which harkens back to the days of Radio and of writing things really poorly. I can't recommend it enough. (That should read "I can't recommend it. Enough!" Sorry.) Seriousfully, it's not so much a commentary as chance for the cast and writers to make fun of each other in every musical style possible. I give it forty eight billion stars.
Oh, and the "every musical style possible" mention? Um, yeah. Not. Kidding. His brother Zack "I'm the youngest!" Whedon RAPS.
Neil Patrick Harris attempts to rap (though, you know, not that hard. 'cause I believe he could do that. I mean, he was doing surgery before he could drive. How hard could it be to rap? **SNORFLE** **Shoulda ganked that "wow sarcasm" icon!)
