been to a wedding yesterday...kitch, that's the only word that characterizes it thoroughly..i am a romantic soul (well, at least i used to be), but this was just too much...
the bride turned forty this year and it was her third wedding(no kidding) and she still had to wear a white princess dress...the groom is a weird 45yr-old guy who actually enjoys being called "teddy bear" or "pumpkin" or names english doesn't have words for...they have no friends.. they enjoy being just with themselves (and her children)..so the wedding was only their families..and us.. they had this totally old and kitch poem recited (for rina: pro trochu lásky šel bych světa kraj....) and when they were supposed to kiss, it was a three-minute snog..urgh...like i said, totally tasteless...then when we were supposed to congratulate them, what do i say? i wished the bride good luck and hope it lasts...i wanted to kick myself...
anyway, it made me think...it would have been better if they went and got married in a park somewhere without the princess dress and the people...i mean, i wouldn't want to get married ever again after two marriages, two divorces and two children (one out of each)...that's just too much...i dunno what i expect my wedding to be like...i was rather thinking about a garden party sorta thing..get married somewhere, i don't care where(well, i do, but i was in this weird mood when i visited the place and made the decision:) and then have a party with all my friends and family...well, it might be a good idea to make that separate...on the other hand, i have no reason to be embarrassed for any of 'em...does it matter, though? gotta find a guy willing to get married, right? ha ha ha...yeah, not funny..
anyway, been going through all kinds of photos some ten years back and found some pretty nice and interesting ones...like this one...rina took it in a museum..
today's dad's birthday...happy happy happy all day...urgh
today's quote: "Were kisses all the joy in bed, one woman would another wed." - William Shakespeare (just luv the guy)
