YAY for my new car. 2008 Nissan Sentra ♥ I will take fun pictures with it and post them on here sooner or later. :] Got it yesterday... with the money I got back for hail damage from USAA and the money I sold my old car for (RIP 1997 Acura Integra) the car only cost me $5000 :D Hooray!
BOO for not finding a job yet... at this point I need to start applying to service/restaurant jobs in the area and hope I find something =_=; Wonderful.
YAY for festivities this weekend--going downtown for Joe's birthday tonight with Filipino kids, CHC BBQ tomorrow for lunch, and Mike's birthday 'dinner' tomorrow night. Friends are awesome!

Kris, 25-y.o. female living in Denver, CO. 100% Filipina and damn proud of it! I majored in Integrative Physiology at CU-Boulder and recently took ~50 credit hours of post-baccalaureate work at UCDenver to apply to Physician Assistant programs all over the country. I'm hoping to end up in California because I am in love with its food the atmosphere there.
I've been dating this random Taiwanese guy named James for 4 years (!!) and he is the other reason I'm trying to get out to Cali--he's attempting to get a surgery residency out there as well. But enough about him, this is about me :P
I was born in Minot, ND... chilly. My brother Joel was born two years later--so my immediate family consists of my mom, my dad, my grandmother (mom's side), Joel & me. From there, my family & I moved to Guam for a few years, then Delaware for 8. I consider Camden, DE my hometown--much to the chagrin of my East-Coast-hating boyfriend and my brother who insists that we are from Colorado Springs. :] After the summer of my freshman year, my dad was stationed to Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs and away we went! I've been in Colorado ever since--11 years now, wow. :P
I went to high school in the Springs, then GTFO and escaped to Boulder for college. Got my degree in 4 years, lived in Boulder for another year, then decided it was getting old and moved to Denver. I've been living here ever since (3 years and running!)... and I really like it here. It's a great place to live. But Cali beckons. ;]
Interests! Um. I love music and singing... I own a karaoke mic, how's that for COMPLETE AWESOMENESS? (Magic Mic, oh yeah!!) I LOVE food--there is no way to underline how much. Cooking, eating, taking pictures of it... food is what I sometimes plan my days and trips around :] I'm also a huge nerd and enjoy anime, video games, card games & board games a lot. And reading. And writing. And shopping. The list goes on. :]
I love laughing, and have a pretty wicked sense of humor (apparently my sarcasm will make me 'undesirable' to other men, sayeth my mother ;). We make fun of each other and of the world around us all the time--but mostly each other lol. I love my family more than almost anything, and am fiercely loyal to them... and probably to a fault. I consider myself the same way with my closest friends, and am always talking about how awesome my family & friends are. I love you guys!! ♥
Religion: Roman Catholic. Not as strict as I want to be or should be, but I do affiliate myself with that church. Not all of its beliefs though... which makes me kind of half-assed, I admit, but I grew up with it and would prefer to remain in it because it brings me comfort. Political affiliation: pretty damn liberal, with a few moderate leanings. My idealism is as socialist as they come (comrade) but in realistic practice... I realize a lot of people are douchebags that don't necessarily deserve handouts.
Personally, I tend to be very introspective and emotional--extremely sentimental, and very nostalgic. I also have a tangential way of thinking that doesn't always make sense to anyone but myself. :] I'm also very vain (eep) due to a lot of scrutiny from my family and in the Philippines, and am pretty sensitive to criticism :[ I had a lot of self-esteem issues when I was younger due to a few racist incidents that happened to me when I was a lot younger, and some of my problems with confidence still persist to this day. I'm easily hurt by being excluded from things, or being talked about behind my back. -_-; I also have anger issues stemming from this awful job I had for a few years that made me a bit of a misanthrope...
But I believe my best trait is that I am 'elastic' so to speak--I am initially hurt by criticism, bad events, setbacks, etc. but I always bounce back with determination to overcome. :] So yeah, that's me in a nutshell--more like, an essay. =_=;
