I've been pretty neglectful of this online journal for awhile so I thought I'd devote sometime to write about what I did in the weekend. Hee, hee this reminds me very much like when they made us do this at school.
I went to friends' on Friday night. I got out "The Ring" because I really wanted to see it. I fully regret not going to see it at the movies because most of the mystery and creepiness in the cinematography needs to be fully appreciated on the full screen. Also, surround sound would be nice too as at times lots of the effects at the beginning were done via sound, in fact at times they have a "scary sound effect" and there's not even anything there. However, the copious amounts of alcohol for consumptiion was a plus.
On Saturday, I went shopping and bought (another) bag. I wonder if I've developed a bag fetish? I met my friend Chris who was in Auckland over Easter. Everytime I see him, he has an earth shattering revelation or news about something. This time was no exception... I'm still reeling from...
I also saw an anime film. "Graveyard of the Fireflies" - Despite what I might or might not have said afterwards, I thought it was pretty amazing. In a way, it reminds me of stuff I like to write about because it focuses on the inherently selfish and apathetic nature of mankind and the destructive consequences that ensue. Except, I only wish I could invoke such intense emotions... it nearly melted my ice cold human heart.
Finally, I went to the Easter Show yesterday.
It was a cacophony of hotdogs, candy floss, yucky drizzly weather, fun rides, scary rides, smelly animals, ice cream, rigged games, useless inflatable objects, oversized Easter bunny and Spongebob Squarepants... Yes, I had so much fun!!!
That is about all. My biggest disappointment was that they didn't show "Willy Wonka" on TV like they normally do every Easter. Watching it while I gorge on chocolate is my favourite guilty pleasure.
