The service project that I found for the month for youth group at church was an Annual Walk for the Animals event. I know that you would think that's not really that important and that for church groups they should do something like help out homeless shelters. I knew that but I couldn't find anything else with the day they told me and this seemed like a big comunity event. I thought that Devin would have some kids from his other church come but he didn't and as for the one that I was working at they didn't really need a service project because last week they had something with the church to Mexico. So I didn't really didn't bother calling around to check anyone other than those that told me that they would be interested because I thought Devin would want to do that but he ended up finding something else for his church. He didn't even bother to tell me because if I knew that I wouldn't have bothered coming and checking back and forth with those people. So I am frustrated with Devin.
As for the event it was long so sort of boring at times. I had only 2 kids join me. The interesting thing was it's an annual event and those kids and their families had no clue that they had it and it's only 5 mins from the church. So they were impressed and had to call home to ask their parents to bring their dogs. There really wasn't much to help out with because they had a lot of people at the college help them. I think the most I had to do was put things away when it was clean up time. But we did get a bunch of free stuff. We all had some free shirts. Becca had a bunch of doggie treats and even a bag of dog food free. Julia got some doggie toys free. They even had some clergymen come and blessed the animals. I think I even saw channel 4 NBC news there. So that was cool.
