Cause For Concern
There's some weird stuff happening in the Hauraki Gulf area.

I've been listening to the radio all day. 25 dogs have been reported sick in all, 5 of them dead in the past week! But it's not just the dogs. Fish, and common dolphins have been washing up on the shores around the Gulf. Penguins, too. Bodies are being sent to Australia for toxicology repots. There's no sign of algae bloom, the dogs had not ingested anything that killed them. But there's either something out there in the water or in the sand that's causing these deaths.
Maybe someones dumped something toxic. Or, being a volcanic area, maybe something's been leaking into the water. I don't know. But it's worrying me.
I mean, this time of year we get a lot of whale migration. Maybe it is just a natural weed toxin, but still.
