Hating my job right now. May have just gotten myself fired by telling the Canadian Mental Health Foundation that I didn't have time to take their call right now and htye called me rude and told me that they were never shopping at our store ever. Fuck, I'm getting sick of retail, really, really sick of retail.

One of the things I've learned from working at the front desk of the hotel is that if someone has no patience like that, you don't want their business to begin with.

If they really call to bitch to your super, its normally just good to come out forthright to your super first, and say "I really didn't have time right at that moment for the call, we were slammed and no one else could take it. At the time, I did the best I could. If their idea of 'mental health' is stressing out our employees, it's probably not worth it anyhow."

Well I didn't get fired, just got a minor reprimand about my "professionalism", I find it odd, our manager is the most concerned about professionalism and appearances than the managers of the other stores in the city. It's just damned annoying that she expects so much out of us yet we don't really get paid enough nor treated well enough to require this level of commitment.
