Columbus Day = class
It's 2:30am and I don't want to go to sleep. I've got a class tomorrow morning, but because most of that class is going to be taken up by an exam my head is interpreting the situation as
exam = no class = A-OK to stay up all night.
What I'm filling precious sleep time with right now:
- this journal entry
- spamming Jenn's Facebook wall with random comments/thoughts
- recalling a short conversation about bears and how you apparently shouldn't try running away from one unless you know what kind of bear it is.
- reading blogs
- feeling sorry for myself
My school should really have off on Columbus Day. I'm assuming I don't have off because my school does not believe Columbus and the genocide of the Native American people deserves a holiday and I wholeheartedly agree. However, I still believe October 12th should be a day all schools throughout the United States have off. We should just rename it to something else like "Reflect on Columbus's Crimes Day" or whatever.
