He rubbed at the faded scar on his forehead as he contemplated the wooden carving of the elder wand and all it symbolized for him: loss and victory. Tracing the fluid lines of the delicate glass figurine of a mother and child, he smiled; it had been a gift from Hermione and Ron when Lily was born.
The tree glittered with silver, gold and glass, but it held much more than ornaments.
