pictures/some stories

The picture before the cut is on the road to Hana. We were so far above the water you could feel the pressure in your ears. We didn't make it the entire way since my aunt was horribly car sick. I was feeling a tad sick myself, but I'm very pissed we didn't go the entire way. No waterfalls or black sand beaches :(

Over Utah from the plane. Such beautiful mountains.

Lahaina, where we stayed. From the highway.

Hana Highway again.

Gorgeous sunsets over Lana'i. (another island in our view)

Shawn and me in a weird self portrait.

Corey and me.

Yours truly on the beach.

Shawn and my bedroom. Beautiful.

Our community. In Puamana there were I forget how many units of condos. They're all privately owned and some people live there full time and some rent their's out. We met this famous WWII airforce pilot named CW Getz (Bill). They own a bunch and wanted to send us some info on their condos in case we wanted to honeymoon there. They were incredibly nice. If they cut us a deal I would go back in a heartbeat.

We discovered the best thing to eat on the island was a little place called Maui Tacos. Local healthy mexican food in a fast food style. It was INCREDIBLE. I would move there just for that. No one was bragging about any of the food, even at two Zagat approved restaurants we ate at. On the night that would have been my grandparent's 50th anniversary we went to this swanky Longhi's place, we had the best seat in the place, which was on the second floor in a corner round table overlooking the ocean. It was the best thing about the place. The people who ate steaks loved it, but anyone who had anything else went hungry. Hagen Daas icecream later is what that meant!

It was the best vacation ever. I want to go back so badly, I think I'm having readjustment issues. It's cold here and brown. I loved seeing the plants I grow here on a small basis there on a gigantic scale! Boganvillia's that were HUGE! And crabs, there were a lot of crabs, from tiny guys on the beach, to huge black guys. Eeew. The bugs were sure interesting, that I'll say.

I asked my uncle to walk me down the aisle and he in turn asked me if Shawn and I would take Samantha is anything were ever to happen to them. We were both so equally honored, he cried, I was flabbergasted. Sam and I had so much fun, swimming twice every day and goofing around. Everyone was good, family drama minimal. My aunt had some drama which is to be expected, I just walk away.

There's batch one!
