Your written assignment for this week is an outline for a proposed essay that justifies an evaluation.
* Please complete these steps, first. (You will remember them from before.)
1. State your subject
2. State your tentative thesis/judgement
3. Identify your audience
4. State your purpose
These 4 items should should precede the outline.
* Next, outline a minimum of 3 body paragraphs.
* Write a topic sentence for each paragraph and then add a bullet list of all supporting arguments you think should appear in the paragraph.
* To give your proposed supporting arguments authority, research one or two credible sources (or helpful illustrations and examples) per paragraph.
* Remember that good research is comprised of a variety of sources (books, articles, websites, interviews, etc.).
* Once you have located the supporting materials, list those arguments, illustrations, or examples that you would incorporate amongst the bullets for each paragraph. Be sure to add in-body citation in APA style to all bullets that build on source material you have read.
* Finally, add a "References" page in APA style that contains all of the source materials you incorporated into your outline. Under Course Materials, click "Library/ Learning Resource Center ." When that screen opens, click "Proper Use of APA Citations" near the bottom of the screen. Next, see examples of the APA style, especially the sample research paper under the link "Click here for an example of a paper with proper citation and references."
