Author's Notes: Not my usual sort of thing at all! Just a silly little drabble that amused me enough to write it down.
It was always important to make sure that you were up to date with the etiquette of the dominant species on whichever planet you were visiting at any one time.
Zokals, for example, always liked you to look them in the eye whenever you spoke to them and to listen very attentively to what they were saying - they could get intensely angered if this rule was not adhered to. Not keen to provoke a dispute, the Doctor was trying to bear this in mind as he and Donna dined with the Zokal chief and his wife one evening.
Truth was, he was finding it pretty difficult to keep his mind firmly on the conversation. He’d known that Donna would find a way to get him back after he’d slapped her arse earlier on and claimed it to be the standard Earth way of greeting a human female - prompting the Zokals to do the same to her out of politeness. And right now he was regretting his moment of mischief quite a lot, because it was almost impossible to concentrate on his manners with Donna’s hand under the table resting in a place where it definitely shouldn’t have been…
