He was alarmed to see tears swimming in her eyes. “You said ‘it’,” Donna answered, clearly upset. “He’s not an ‘it’, he’s a him. A person, who used to have thoughts and feelings and dreams - not just a dead body. Is that how you’re going to think of me when I’m not… not here?” She broke off and brushed the back of her hand across her eyes.
Such a sad little moment :(
I'm enjoying this so much, I really am. And now you're going to make us wait until Thursday?! Evil!! Oh, ok then, have fun with your cousin :)
I'm afraid I am - I toyed with the idea of asking Jess (aforementioned cousin) if I could use her laptop but it's not worth having to admit that I write Doctor Who fanfiction :)
Re: above. Oh yes it is! Lol I accidentally slipped it to a friend once because I couldn't wait any longer to check my f-list and wanted to use her interwebs. Turns out that no, she doesn't do Who fic (after all, I'd not corrupted her to fandom yet), but she loves fic from other fandoms, and we had a lovely chat about all our fic quirks and stuff.
Anyway to proper commenting now. Donna's reaction to him calling the body an it about killed me. I'll go cry in my little hole again for a bit. Thanks for that. Of course this is brilliant and I'm eagerly waiting to see how/if they sort this out (and how/if he can fix her brain before it's too late). :)
(Hope you have a good time with your cousin, by the way! See you when you return!)
To be fair, I have admitted it to some people now - when I started out it was my secret that NOBODY was going to know about, but I'm less embarrassed about it now :P Jess, though, already thinks I'm far too obsessed with Who. She watches it but that's as far as it goes :D
I'm secretly delighted over that part making you sad - I like making people sad :) Thank you so much, and you'll have to see whether I'm going to fix things!
This is a fascinating insight into how Donna's thoughts have changed with the knowledge that she won't have long to live (although I still believe you will give us a happy ending). It's one of the things I love best about Donna - how she calls him out on things like that.
Thanks, I'm so pleased you think so. I always liked the way Donna challenged him, like in Pompeii and on Messaline. And I'm still keeping zipped on the happy ending/not happy ending lol :P
