So nina gave me 4 fandoms to pick favorites from. couple tricky choices, but here we go!
Glee: Rachel
This was probably the hardest to choose from, since I really like almost everyone from Glee. But I was really drawn to Rachel from the first episode because of her drive and high standards for herself. She's had some really herfa derfa moments, even full episodes, but...I think I just blame the writers. She's a really strong character and she makes me want to stick to my goals and follow them through. I'm excited to see where her character goes in season 2, but I'm kinda worried that the writers are gonna ruin everything.
Harry Potter: Hermione
Okay, this one was actually pretty easy. :D Hermione's been my favorite ever since I watched the first movie and started reading the books. Instant connection. Most likely because she's basically me, logical, stubborn, paranoid about grades, solid morals. She's such a well developed character(likebasicallyallofjk'scharacters) and grows a lot over the course of the series. She almost always knows exactly what to do, when it should be done, and how to do it. She's exceptionally quick on her feet, especially during the 7th book. And I absolutely adore her relationship with Ron, and how it developed over the years. I hate that steve kloves kinda kills it for everyone who doesn't read the books. :( the movies, sadly, really make it seem more like harry and hermione are gonna end up together. But it's okay, we know the truth haha! Hermione's great, and she's an excellent role model, not just for girls, but for everyone. She's got a lot of knowledge and plenty of lessons that everyone reading the books can seriously benefit from. Harry and Ron really would not have gotten very far without her, and she will always be an inspiration to me.
Tales of Symphonia: Lloyd
(whydoesnobodyplaythis??)Second hardest to choose. D: I love this game so effing much, and all of the characters are so unique and 3 dimensional. This was verrrry tough because there are soooo many close seconds (i.e. just about all of the other playables and a few npcs) but in the end, I chose lloyd here.
When I played through the game the first time, I liked lloyd as the main protagonist because he was so refreshing. cheerful, optimistic, and kind of an idiot, but not to the point where you lost sympathy or anything. and though he's got a heart of gold, he's got a really hot head. his flaws were evident, and the fun part was watching him grow and learn throughout the course of the game. He was always very adamant on saving everyone, but failed to understand so much in the beginning because he was a bit misguided in his thoughts. he thought defeating the ones who caused everyone to suffer would make everything better, and that people would be protected. His ideals were really put to the test in the first quarter of the game, when everything he fought for and believed in turned out to be a lie. That was a big shock, and the fact that he overcame that, and the betrayal, and traveled the world to save his friends, and managed to create a new path for himself was so admirable to me. i still find his ability to accept and forgive incredibly endearing, even after what...9 playthroughs now? tales studio did and amazing job with this boy, and the whole game for that matter.
Final Fantasy: Aerith
I sort of want to say this was a hard choice but...nah, no contest really. you just don't forget your first favorite character. I was 4 or 5 years old when this came out and my uncle started playing it. nina and i sat in the basement for hours on end watching him play. aerith was the first character I ever remember feeling attached to. I was so little, I can't really say what made her my favorite all those years ago; maybe it was that nina 'took' tifa first and i loved that aeris wore pink. XD but nonetheless, she was my favorite, and i cried for i don't remember how long when she died, haha. anyways....
today, I can say she's still my favorite. definitely my favorite of all the final fantasy games, and definitely one of my favorite fictional characters from anything of all time. I love her in the original game(solongastheplayerdoesn'tmakechoicesthatshipherwithcloudD:) for her friendly and upbeat attitude. she's a very sweet person and always there for her friends, but she likes to have some fun and do things spontaneously. which, i've noticed, a lot of people seem to forget. [rant]i HATE when people portray aerith as soft-spoken, super mellow, shy, or hesitant. *cough*ADVENTCHILDREN*cough* seriously? play the game again. she wasn't hyper or annoying like yuffie was (lol) but she wasn't quiet or chilled out, like tifa was. she was very curious, outgoing, and fearless. get it right dammit! D:[/rant] ANYWAYS,
yeah, aeris has a really special place in my heart. :)
so nina,
gots a proposition for ya.
