Yes, I'm here. Yes, I still watch the show. Enough about me.
I can't help but wonder what the call back is all about.
There is a lot of mentioning of things of the past. Most importantly season one.
Tonight it was Missouri and it's been various other things this season.

I rewatched this morning with the coffees.... So hurry up Pink and get on the ball! I felt so bad for how lonely Dean was in the beginning. Then I thought who's gonna write something about the week and a half of him wandering around. *looks at smilla and i speak*
As for Cas, I'm with big. I miss John way more than Cas. Don't throw things at me if I say I thought he over stayed by a season.

had this same thought, expressed it on twitter, got more validation of YOU SHOULD DO IT and now I'm plotting. Happy? Poor Dean, so alone and sad. :(
John vs Cas, why does it have to be either/or. Why not getting both back?
Seriously, though, I loved Cas in season 4, a bit less in season 5 and then back to OMG at the end of season 6. I would love to see his storyline addressed better, somehow - while I think John's story is mostly closed. (Though to see Dean punching John in the face would be AWESOME!)

It doesn't have to be either or, I'm not wishing John was back, ok maybe just a little. LOL! I was all about Cas in season 4, 5 I started to think huh, he's kind of useless but still enjoyed him. Season 6 though I think he was a victim of trying to sort the whole thing back out. I felt like he was an easy fix out of a tough spot for the boys. Beat the crap out of Sam or Dean and have Cas do the touch and WHAMMO! all better, He couldn't do that in 4 it bugged me he could do that in 6. I did however like the ending and the use of him. I know we haven't seen the last of him yet. I feel like the biggest bad is wearing him like his soggy trench coat.
I am admitting to not missing the little guy very much. It seems like they hit the ground running in 7 and Cas is gone but not forgotten.

I agree re: the easy fix - I don't like that and I think part of the removal is due to Cas being too powerful, it would have started to look silly if Dean and Sam didn't call him when there was a problem that a simple snap of his fingers could solve. On the other hand, that's why I would have liked a close to 504 version of Cas: powerless and grace-less (and maybe bitter and with his superior complex still intact). I have no idea how he would fit in the overall story, though, so I know nothing.

But maybe it's by design, the fans mourn Cass right along with Sam and Dean.... mostly Dean.
Or Misha was getting to that part in his contract where raises were going to have to happen and it was either Cas or the music that had to go.
