Working on a project/Working on a book

Sep 29, 2010 13:55

As some may know I had a project last semester in "Documentary Photography" and I chose to do a book, even though I finished this book for the class, I'm treating it more as a rough draft(because I personally messed up a few details as well as I had never used AandIbooks.com before) and a reference point because by no means do I think that my work in Escondido, Ca is done...

This image is the front cover.

I only made one copy of this book and unfortunately it was destroyed by an angry cat with a small bladder. This second image is a man(MARVARRA) I met in Escondido while shooting.

This next image is one of many things I collected while shooting around Escondido, CA.

The book is about 42 pages long with tons of images, personal notes and found items used to relate to the area so the process of putting this all together was very consuming. I'm not going to lie, I had to straight up ignore social interactions for a little bit.

Now that you have made it through the images I want to give a very very simple and brief explanation of this project. This book is my comment on the deterioration of an area. It was made to show history, landscape, inhabitants and my personal notes as I explore the area.

Although this is just a preview I am currently working on a new website which will have a full digital online version of this book, so look forward to that!
