i'd never thought i'd say this, but i miss Michigan.  I have to do an assignment on my "roots" for Multicultural Ed and I decided to look up some information on Michigan and all that.  So I go to the website and just browse through different things to do in Michigan, like skiing up in Mackinaw or Traverse City, kayaking along the Au Sable to see the fall color, kayaking around Pictured Rocks.  I guess I just miss the place.  I miss spending time in the outdoors and going cross-country skiing with my family over in Traverse City every winter.  It's been so long since we've done that.  I miss having the sense of adventure by kayaking around the river up in Mio.  That was a lot of fun the last time we went, even though I got way too tired and had the current/Paul take my kayak down the rest of the river.  haha.  I miss Spring Hill too.  Everyone's talking about working at summer camp and I'd like to next summer, but i always thought that I'd probably go to Walcamp or maybe even Cilca.  But now that I think of it, I really like Spring Hill too or even Arcadia.  ooh too many decisions/memories.

in other news, CYM Harvest had their second lock-in last night (my first though-I missed last week's).  We traveled down to Kankakee, IL to catch part of a junior-high dance (they're so tiny!) and then to go bowling/stay up all night with the senior high.  It was alright.  I felt like they really weren't into us being there, but that just may be because it's senior high.  But there was about 20 kids there (mainly boys) and it was a pretty good time.  Our skit was hilarious because T did his Kip voice the whole time and it was flawless.  Seeing him in heels was kind of funny too.  Bible study was alright.  it was very male dominated so there wasn't a lot of talking on the senior high kid's part, but that's to be expected.  the rest of the night we spent playing dodgeball in which we waged war upon the young ones.  earlier in the night we had gone to play bowling in which we got to play for about 2-3 hours nonstop and we didn't have to pay for it which was nice.  It was quite funny to see Craig wear the helmet the whole time.  I have no idea why he wore it for so long.  Everyone in the alley must have thought that he was special ed or something.  But it was fun, plus I got to know the members of our team better.  Roo and I basically found out each other's life stories over the course of a couple of frames.  Turns out that he wants to teach in a Lutheran high school with over 500 kids...Mrs. K, any math openings next year for him?  anyway, I highly recommended LHN to him, great principle, great teachers, crappy dress code.

"Craig, honey, you're not wearing your helmet!"-Jessica    and then of course there's Me, Sam, and Jenna with a little bit of a confused looking Craig in the background.  There's better pictures out there where I'm pretending to bowl Craig's helmet/head down the alley.

all in all, I've been sleeping for most of the day because I'm flat out tired and cranky.  I've got issues going on in my life right now and I don't know how to go about solving them, but I can't live the rest of the semester with this going on and I've definitely tried to change my attitude about things but I think God just wants me to be cranky about it.  I don't know anymore.

church tomorrow at Christ Lutheran in Oak Park, working on my demonstration speech (eek!), other various bits of homework, and then spending time with Jaymes again.  this week was pretty ridiculous considering pretty much the only time we spent together was on our walk on Thursday night.  It's been a sad week and we haven't been seeing each other on weekend's either because of lock-ins.  Next weekend won't be any different because I'll be gone on a ski retreat lock-in up in Wisconsin on Saturday/Sunday.  am i pathetic because i miss being around him even though i go to the same school as him?  i'm afraid so.

oh i guess Valentine's day is coming up too. hmmm....
