Wii would like to play

My house is turning into a smaller version of GameStop these days, since Alex's dad bought her a Wii. My kids are now the owners of two Nintendo Wiis and one X-box, as well as an older SNES system. Alex also got a couple of academic awards this year: a medal for getting straight A's in math (all semesters), an Achievement award that honors academic performance and personal character as well as a Barnes & Noble gift card for participating in Reading Across Broward. She read 32 books this school year.

Yesterday, I took Fluke to get a bath at a VCA animal hospital in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The wash cost $10 and benefited the Siberian Husky Rescue of South Florida, and they had probably 10 adopatable (adorable) huskies there. One was snow-white with ice blue eyes, and another was a reddish-gold color. One adoptee was named Asia and was found wandering the streets covered in motor oil and with open sores.

I fail to understand people who allow dogs to get into that condition. Open sores? Motor oil? What, exactly, is wrong with these people? Anyhow, Asia is being fostered by a family and with some good veterinary care, she's doing much better. The sores have healed and she's gained weight.

Here's a link to their website: http://www.siberrescue.com/doghouse.html

And my PDA for today is: Adopt a shelter dog.
