My daughter, Alex, brought home some work done in her reading/writing class at school. Since she has some type of learning disability (we don't have a specific diagnosis yet), I was impressed by the "100%" written across the tops of at least four pages.
I don't think her reading comprehension is perfect; I know she can read, but I'm not sure she fully understands what she's reading.
Anyway, she brought home a paper on rules of the house, dated Oct. 5, 2005. Here are the rules she lives by:
"First, I can't stay up late because if I do I will get yelled [at] by my Mom. That will not be good.
Next, I clean my room because if I do not [do] it, it will be a big mess to clean up. And my Mom will get angry with me.
Third, I must feed the cats or my Mom doesn't give me money. And that's not good to me.
In conclusion, my rules are don't stay up late, clean my room, and feed the cats."
