Life is so unfair

Call it ironic.

The last time Mom visited us she told us that a few weeks ago she re-connected with her childhood friend on FB. They haven't seen each other for almost 40 years or more so she was very hyped up. This woman was important for her in her childhood and she was happy that they had found each other after so many years.
She was exicted and I knew that she would like to meet up with her friend. But that is never gonna happen. While Mom had been here that friend of hers passed away suddenly due to an illness. One of her daughters called Mom last Friday to tell her about the sad news. After the phone call Mom called me and she was devasteted.
I think in her mind Mom had already planned their meeting and she wanted to tell this friend about her life and her children and  planned to ask her about her life, children and grandchildren but her sudden death put an end to her plans.
Mom is sad and misses her lost and found and lost again friend who had been so important for her in her early years and with whom she might have shared the same memories of their childhood, the same burdens and joy. Memories worth to retell, to cry over and laugh.

Life is not fair at all.

sadness, about me, life, family, english
