I'm kinda behind I realize, the people who are really interested in WAR have been playing for a while now. But I just started toying with it, so... nyah. :P I'm writing this anyway

I haven't played an RP very much, I'm mostly a Destruction guy right now (and not a big Dwarf fan in general). Most of the healer-types are, as you'd noted, hybrids. Some are Healer-melee DPS (DoKs and War' Priests for example), others are more healer-nuker (Archmage comes to mind), and so forth. So the Rune Priests probably do okay, though I can't speak from direct experience.
The PQ rewards are pretty nice, but you'll see some other nice items out there. Also, there's an Auction House system available in the capital city if you just want to purchase a few upgrades (or sell nice items you can't use). On those times where you don't get a reward from the PQ, you can repeat it if you want. Each time you go through it without getting a reward, you get a bonus to your loot roll, so even if you did little DPS, you'll still get something.
The DoK is pretty nice, at least for the first two tiers. It solo's well, groups pretty well, and is fairly survivable in RvR. I've heard some grumblings about their DPS falling off in the upper tiers, but you know MMOG message boards, there's always someone complaining about someone.
A number of folks I know are quite taken by the Witch Elves for melee DPS. I'm also partial to the Marauder. The Magus and Sorc' make for some nice magic-DPS. I haven't done much with the green skins.
On the Order side, I liked the Witch Hunter, and the Swordmaster is a nice tank. Most of the elf classes (on both sides) I found quite satisfying actually.
<--- has a problem playing a lot of alts, if that wasn't clear. :)
