Our kitchen excitement was a bit premature. The drain pipes leak terribly and the dishwasher isn't working. Yarg. However, we are closer to a completely functional kitchen. It seems that Simon only gave us permission for one large leap and henceforth merely babysteps.
There is more than a foot of snow on the ground, I'm fairly certain. It is difficult to gauge with the drifting. We didn't leave the house yesterday. I'm not yet sure if we will today, either. Probably; we want some groceries and there is UU service to attend, perhaps crafting if it is still on and other errands to run. I expect it'll depend on the condition of the roads when we attempt to venture out as to how many things we will accomplish.
We didn't make the filled pastries yesterday. I didn't feel up to the additional mess without a running dishwasher (we'd been "saving" our dirty dishes for most of the week already). We did make raspberry pancakes for breakfast and a gifted soup for supper. It was good soup weather to be making one that simmers for 2 hours. Puzzles and reading and movies comfortably filled the rest of the day.
