So, next month is NANOWRIMO. Joy oh joy. More power to those of you who actually like tearing your hair out trying to make the quota. Me? I prefer to have my sanity in one piece by the end of November. It doesn't mean I don't have the urge to write. I do, and as a matter of fact, I have an invitation as well.
Here's the deal:
Starting today and for a whole month you must devote an entire one to two hours to that thing we call the art of writing. Do it in the morning, do it at night, hell do it while the teacher drones on about nature v. nuture. The point is that writers write. Sometimes it can be like a job, and for people like me, well I tend to put it away and trick myself into believing I'll come back to it some day.
No more.
For one month we write, and it can be anything: short fiction, poetry, a novel, etc. Don't be discouraged if you write a sentance one day and nothing else. Don't give up if it seems like it's crappy. The point is to try. Try and when you feel like sharing, post your efforts in this community.
Just one thing. Blogging/journaling does not count as part of the writing time. Nether does role-playing unless it is in story format.
It's insanity I tell you. Insanity!!! Now, I have to go open up the community (come join, blackglass) and go do something else, and eat cookies....
