This is just how I do:
more settling in to a suprising life
I read books putting the New Thought movement into a theological context
and work so very much at Phonathon -
right now I am listening to someone else's phone call, for example.
I go to class far too often
and write papers justifying the New Jerusalem Bible's gender-inclusive translation of Greek pronouns.
I go to hot yoga and stretch every part of me
then lie in tanning beds in a corpse pose
and dance with the beam of light that comes in my basement room window
from 1:30 to 2:30 each day.
I go out with friends to the fourth avenue bars
and carry posh weapons like hooked-handle umbrellas
to deal with creepy exes if the situation arises.
On that tip -
There are new boys in my life
one is apathetic and unsettled - I don't return his text messages
the other is young and energetic and if someone could enamor themselves to someone
he'd do it to me in spades
I am a lazy cat and he is as pure as the cold driven snow
but I always return his phone calls
and listen to silly folk-rock with him
just to watch him dance.
Other things that make me happy:
Emily's happy birthday CD -
Espresso parties in the sunny driveway with Alex Entrekin -
suprise telephone chats with old friends currently living in Seattle -
the black cat that looks in my wee basement window
and stares me down -
Sometimes it is like my ribs aren't strong enough to contain my heart
when it beats that hard.
These are definitely good days in this life of mine.
