I'm BACK!

Hello, hello, is this mic working?

*ahem*

Guys, I'm officially BACK!!

Due to moving into a new home, completing my second Master's degree (yes, SECOND!), and a new career (3rd year now) as an elementary school teacher, a lot has happened that has kept me from enjoying the doll hobby! It got so overwhelming (teaching is hard, and times that level of difficulty by 100 when you are teaching and pursuing a Master's degree at the same time!) that I had to sell all my prized dolls and honestly, with a lot of my fave doll hobbyists leaving the hobby, I thought I was out too.

Fast forward to a week ago when my phone wants to show me a photo of my old MNF Miyu, Serenity. (Goodness, I hate that I sold her). That led me down a pathway of thinking it would be nice to have a doll again. Then suddenly, it's 3am and I'm clicking on everything doll related and even skimming through the marketplace at DOA one page at a time. And then, it hit me. Carmine on Luts was beautiful (the romance head) and I get hit with a double-whammy: Fairyland Minifee Erda full package, oh my! Boy oh boy, is he handsome!

I was talking to my husband about it and since my bday is coming up, he said I could pre-order the doll. Hip! Hip! Hooray! So, I DID! I ordered my Erda through DDE on 3/1/2020 and I am excitedly in the *nesting* phase. I'm drawing him, writing about who his character is, and creating a story line.

Then, I suddenly have on layaway a Luts Delf Miyu, a FL MNF Miyu, a Luts KDF Bory Romance Unicorn, a Luts KDF Yul Satyr, and a Luts SDF65 Carmine Romance head! Guys, it's like a dream come true, because all of the dolls I have been wanting were all available in some sort of way. I can't believe my luck!

So, here I am, in full doll-planning mode. After years of being away from the hobby and thinking back on what sculpts I enjoyed the most and the clothing/wig/eyes styling, and what made me truly cherish them, even now, I finally have a set plan for what I want out of the doll hobby. I thoroughly want to enjoy it and I have a storyline that I've had in my head for years for each size doll.

I realized what made me truly love them was the characters I had built for them, and the DIY clothing and hats I made, as well as the Faceups I gave them myself. I think what makes the doll hobby one of a kind and truly special is the customization. You can truly dream and make what you want and have it come into fruition. I have always enjoyed the creative side of my personality, and writing, drawing, reading, and sewing and crafting has always been the top on my fave list! The doll hobby magically brings it all together, and I get so much enjoyment out of planning and completing the doll-related projects.

I am back and ready to stay as I am interested in the beneficial side of the doll hobby and what components of it add value to my life. I am no longer blindly going on impulses. I know what I want and I am setting out to get it. So, here is to future blog posts on all my Dollie plans, as well as character drafts, story line writing, drawing, crafting ideas, and what not. I'm extremely proud and excited to get back in. No more selling off my babies, I'm here to stay! :D Stay tuned for doll character introductions and other related posts!
