Some pictures from Warsaw

As I said in my previous entry, here are a few pictures from my trip to Warsaw. It was a great trip, Warsaw is a really good city to visit like that. There’s lots to see and do, the food is delicious and cheap, the shopping’s very good and the prices friendly to Norwegian wallets ;-) and the public transport system is amazing. I really recommend it. I hope I’ll be able to go back in the summer some time.

Stare Miasto, the Old Town, is absolutely beautiful. I took a gadzillion pictures. :-) This is the pillar with the statue of king Sigismund, with some of the colorful houses beyond.

There are lots of churches around the city ... this is the facade of the suspiciously named Church of the Decapitation in the Old Town.

The monument to Frederic Chopin, Warsaw’s most celebrated native son.

A peacock in Lazienki Park.

An elephant figurine in the window of one of the city’s many galleries. Or was it a restaurant? I didn’t buy it. ;-) I did buy a couple of other pieces of art, but both were paintings.

More pictures will appear on my blog pretty soon ... and the best ones will be posted on Flickr as well.
