Raidy (age 2): Here, here. *hands me two white pipe cleaners*
Leila: What do you want me to make?
Raidy: Wawus.
Leila (in disbelief): ...a walrus?
Raidy: Yeah yeah!
Funniest. kid. EVAR. (Why not a woof-woof? Or a kitty? NO...a WALRUS.)
Rock Band might have redeemed itself. Now that I've moved beyond resident lead guitar, the game is a lot more fun. I'm a versatile member of the band. :3
And the greatest thing is that my nephew (10 yrs) turns out to be a fabulous singer. You can't go on a World Tour without a lead singer (at least, the LEADER, and we inadvertently made the singer the leader of the band), so I was dejected when my brother left to see a movie. I asked my nephew to sing on a lark (since the guitar or bass is still a little too difficult at times for him) and guess what?
HE CAN SING!!!! It's utterly hilarious. We've always known he's had a knack for rhythm and an interesting interpretation of pitch...(you have to hear him sing the Kenshin theme songs...XD)
With me on guitar, my nephew and I scored 5/5 stars on four songs and 4/5 on another song.
Songs on the Setlist he brought down the house with:
Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Jet
Blitzkrieg Bop - Ramones
Say It Ain't So - Weezer
Should I Stay or Should I Go - The Clash
Dani California - Red Hot Chili Peppers
What makes it all so incredible is that all the songs are before his time, so he's learning based on repeated rhythms and listening to the rest of us perform the songs.
By a strange set of circumstances, ended up playing Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden on the bass guitar (on Medium) and MY ARM ALMOST FELL OFF. I do not want to know what Expert looks like.
Little Raidy rocks out hardcore to classic rock. We have videos of his bumping wide stances. I tested out several songs. Alternative rock...ehhhh. Black Sabbath got an "OH YEAH!" and he liked the Red Hot Chili Peppers a lot.
Also, the Ro had his palm read and was told that he would perform in a rock band. Later on, his fortune cookie told him the same thing. After singing in Rock Band, he exclaimed, "My fortune came true!"
