Found out today that my whole department will hear on Monday on an individual basis who has a job with the new re-structure and who will not. I'm not surprised to see that the little group I've been a part of is now missing 1 manager in the new org chart. That'd be me, folks. *fingers crossed* The official transition of work will start August 24th to give HR time to get visas for the Uruguay folks who will be coming up to learn the reporting we're off-shoring down there. My transition will start much sooner I'm sure. Last day for people not matched to roles will be 12/4. My old boss told me yesterday to go ahead and take time off for festival like I normally would (if not for the sticklers in my group). Seeing as I'll be rolling out of the company a month later, I can't imagine I'll be all that important to their business day 1-6 reporting that month, but I could be wrong. I'll certainly ask for the time (I'll have 2 personal holidays to use anyway) but just not take time off afterward so I can save up my vacation days for the final payout.
if all works out, I'll walk away with 17 weeks or pay plus roughly 4 weeks of vacation. That. doesn't. suck. Gives me lots of leeway until the business starts rolling.
