deeper into the lands

Woke up around 6 a.m. not knowing why, and then again around 8 when the concierge-of-sorts decided it was time for me to pay. The price went from 20 dollars to 30'000 as I wanted to pay in local currency. Maximum annoyance. Yeah, different prices for tourists, as always.

Some rice porridge for breakfast and then news that Sunji had gone to hospital for injections at night - too sick. I felt very lucky, all of a sudden :)

Waited around for car repairs to be done and then packed the car and headed out of Altay. We stopped many times on the road, which was brilliant for pictures. Everyone seems nice and all goes well. The scenery is much more interesting than during the previous days.

On a mountain top, we ate and drank in a ger as Mr. TV-star asked me all kinds of questions and the Korean team wondered in as well, all curious about who I am. It was nice, I felt really comfortable for the first time in days. What does that say of me?

We then continued to the camp we are at now.

As soon as we arrived, we unloaded the cars and then headed for the springs. Gorgeous. Bayar took way more pictures than I did... But he deletes those he doesn't like asap.

When we finally returned, a Mongolian bbq awaited. Hot stones, meat, stones, veggies, stones, meat, etc. The table was set outside and the view unbeatable. Bayar's wife had prepared some bean-curd for me and the sick kids. She is awesome.

I ate next to Bimba and carefully listened as Bayar introduced each and everyone of us to the Korean team. Then I moved over to their side of the table as I played around with Mr Lee's large and very heavy Contax. One neat machine!

And then (or was it already before?) the drinking began.

And, in my drunken state, I softly flirted with everyone as well as spilled the beans about my desire to move back to film, aka how an impending fortune was about to change my Life. After that Mr John didn't look me in the eyes for a while; it was strange. Well, at least until he was told to invite me to partake in an exhibition in Korea.

Later, I failed to manage starry night pictures... And witnessed a man desperate to jerk off. But he didn't. I guess he could feel me watching from the depths of the woods where I was busy washing my teeth. He didn't pick his spot very well anyway: even though he was behind the houses everyone slept in, he was in the light cast by two powerful lights around the back.

Tired, drunk, and sleeping in the same room with a coughing kid. Fun times!
