On Friday after a last minute email from
Trevor, I packed up, picked up Malloreigh in my borrowed car (thanks mom <3) and drove down to Washington for Warped Tour at the Gorge.. it was pretty hilarious..
Mal & I drove to Bellingham Friday night and stopped at Walmart for CD's to burn while we drove then we picked up supplies at Trader Joes (which I only just discovered and omfg, the place is amazing - they had $2.50 bottles of wine! humous for $4.00!). The people who worked there were SO amazing and they made us a little map to get to the motel district in Everett, WA so that we didn't have to sleep in the car. The plan was to find something for under $65 (it didn't work) - but we did get a room at the Days Inn for around $75, complete with flies and pillows that had lost their fluff at least a decade ago AND internet!
Saturday morning, after a very long, strange sleep - we got up at 7:30am and stepped outside in to the RAIN. Everett had a drive thru Coffee Stand with Pumpkin Syrup and really amazing London Fogs, despite the girl not actually knowing what a London Fog was. Thankfully Quincy is almost 3 hours from Everett, so by the time 10:30 rolled around we were well into the sunshine.
-The Gorge!-
Trevor is such a rad dude. As soon as we got there we picked up our wrist bands and he came out to meet us and give us a tour of the grounds and the tour bus they've been traveling in.
They have a show on MTV now called
Buzzin' and he introduced us to Shwayze & Cisco, which was sort of bizarre since Lindsay & I had seen Cisco in LA and I'd been all like -omg, celeb! hilarious.
We spent the rest of the morning snacking on the bus and talking with everyone - Mal managed to get in with the boys at the back of the bus and worked on seducing groupies with them, it was pretty amazing(!) Then we followed them to their photocall and killed time until four (five?) when Katy Perry was supposed to play. Mal was going to kiss her.
This is Warren, he decided that he loved me (this was after he drank so much he barfed outside the bus) and spent the rest of the day asking me what the chance was that I'd be his girlfriend.. or just come to Portland with them that night. :/ I'm sure he says this to all the girls.
By the time everyone was done playing it was almost seven. We went back to the bus to figure out our plan of action for the night - there was a big bbq for the artists as soon as the venue closed, but they all had buses to crash on and Mal & I had to DRIVE to either Seattle or Portland that night. After we squashed the idea of towing my moms car behind the bus to Portland (!!! my mom would have died), Mal & I popped down to the bbq to say our goodbyes.
The drive to Seattle was TERRIBLE. It rained again, it was 1:30 in the morning and we were trying to find this party that Mal knew people at so we could crash on their couch for the night. We found it without much trouble, it was pretty hilarious and then we crashed.
Seattle, Sunday August 10th
Our only plan for Sunday was eat! shop! drive! All of which we did. After a truly delicious vegan breakfast at this little cafe run by angry vegan punks, we went to Forever 21 and spent at LEAST an hour trying on clothes and going on & on about how god damn cheap it is to shop there! I got jeans, three blouses, shorts, a sweater, a skirt, two pairs of earrings and a necklace for $200. srsly. Mal ended up with a ton of stuff too. ♥
After lunch we packed up the car one last time and high tailed it for Canada..
We ended up in Maple Ridge at dinner time to return the car to my mom. We had dinner with my family & told them all about our trip (I sort of went on & on & on & on - sorry guys) and then took off for Vancouver, home to the girls at Mals house and Nigel.
Fantastic trip.
