All of my motivation to do anything other then lay on the couch (absentmindedly watching baseball with NIgel) is gone... it's been gone all day. I went to bed last night feeling antisocial and not quite right.. maybe it was all the people around this entire weekend - SO MANY CROWDS! or that I'd been hoping to make it to water slides and it just didn't work out... or maybe cause I just don't feel like going back to work already.
Other then today and last night it was a swell weekend and it started with Lunch at Luxy's with Lindsay, Louis and my new best friend Roy... Roy & I killed about three hours on Sunset beach/English Bay after Lindsay & teen took off for some couple time - I had lessons on the middle east, we Roy ogled asian boys on the beach, we wondered why myspace won't let us be friends and generally bonded. It was awesome actually, everyone always says such great stuff about Roy but I'd never had a chance to hang out with him (thanks Roy!)
Nigel & I had a little quality time after Roy time, but then it was off to Lindsays for some pre-drinking before
Nice Neon.
Sydney is SUCH a bad boy.
I could've posted the one of his bright yellow skivvies, but decided against - for now...
Jocelynn was out!
Okay - now here's where I feel absolutely RETARDED. Apparently I was the last person to see Coral & Darcy's new hair.. meaning in drunken Lindsay world Coral still had blonde hair and Darcy had brown. THE ENTIRE NIGHT I thought Darcy was Coral and Coral was Darcy..I even CALLED darcys phone looking for her to come out of the bar so we could go to Limerick.. only I had talked to Coral about coming. The next morning I was talking to... someone.. and they informed me otherwise, then I looked at the pictures and was like "OOOHHH SHIT" cause when I'm not drunk, I can see quite easily who is who. *hangs head* *feels foolish* (coral, I still want to hang out non-drunk like we discussed!)
Coral's broken shoe!
----Heading to Limerick-----
------Back at Mod Club------
Adrienne & I stayed at chatted with Nicola til the lights came up and everyone left..
then I went home... nigel was still awake and just getting into bed.. I made him stay up with me and look at pictures and eat instant noodles..(that's love) mmmm.
Saturday morning I was feeling totally amazing. Nigel & I slept in til 10:30 and then I dragged him up the street to the
Pride Pancake breakfast between
hamburger mary's and Max on Bute. You can't really beat pancakes on the street for $5. I think all we basically did Saturday afternoon was eat.. we motorcycled up to Malloreigh's house that afternoon with Noodles from Don Don's (omg veggie won tons ♥) and hung out with her & Jonny.. then it was off to the
HSBC Celebration of Light (aka Symphony of FIRE *better name imo* )
-----Mal's house-----
heading towards english bay on Davie St.
We sat right on the beach just left of the barge... here's looking east
looking west.
The crowds amaze me every year.. I LOVE being around that many people.. when Nigel & I went last Wednesday we hardly spoke the whole time we were on the beach, there's just SO many people to watch and conversations to listen to.
the vancouver police helicopter - probably the one time every year they get to use it..
and just cause I can't take firework pictures with my shitty camera..
SUNDAY MORNING - Nigel & I spent the entire day together again doing coupley things.. Pride Parade (which I'd never been to before and am SO glad I went)
Booster Juices and to see Pirates II (it was a totally official date, he even bought my ticket) I was pooped at the end of the day, I can't quite even remember falling asleep last night..
Dykes on Bikes
We stayed the whole two hours.. I seriously thought it was amazing (but I'd never been to a parade before - or at least one I could remember).. I had no idea there was such support in our community, from ALL walks of life, supporting the gay community. There were floats for Native Americans and Hindi Communities, Christian churches, single parents, transgendered youth, the City of Surrey! - just everything.. it was nice to see.
And I guess that brings us back to today... I went to Sunset beach this afternoon alone and read and people watched some more and had some much needed (but always hated) alone time.. I had a nap at home and Nigel & I have been eating sandwiches and watching baseball since then.. I can't believe I have to be at work in eleven hours. Four day weekends are always the worst, they seem like vacations - but you just get relaxed and then they're over.
