Mr. Peabody

Whenever Andre and I are at the airport going somewhere we never fail to see someone carrying a little white dog. I don't know what it is about little white dogs and travel, but obviously the two are related. In fact, I've often thought of buying one of these little dogs for the sole purpose of traveling.

Anyhow, I told Andre that the dog's name was Mr. Peabody. All little white dogs in airports are named Mr. Peabody, unless they have grey on them and then they are named Higgins. So now anytime we see a little white dog, Andre will say, "Look, its Mr. Peabody."

So lately I've started thinking about writing a children's book about Mr.Peabody. "Mr.Peabody takes a trip," etc... Andre says, well you better do a search and make sure that no one else has written a book about a little white dog named Mr.Peabody.

This is what came up:

It's my Mr.Peabody! Could it be that after hours and hours of television as a young child this image of a white dog named Mr.Peabody is carefully recorded somewhere in my brain? So odd. Yet it also explains why I assumed Mr.Peabody would be intelligent and professor-like.

A search for "Higgins" revealed that Higgins was Benji's real name--which I probably heard somewhere since I loved Benji as a kid. And although he's actually more brown, this is the type of dog I imagined Higgins to be.

So much for creativity.
