This is not okay.
This is SO not okay.
It is not okay to use an entire country's recent pain and suffering for the basis of your romantic slashy pretty white boy RPF.
NOT OKAY!
It exploits people's pain.
For me, this isn't so much a racial issue (I'm a white chick who lives in ritzy DC. I have no place talking about race) as it is a human issue. Yes, there are elements of racism in it, but for me...They are people. Real people going through horrifying, agonizing experiences that someone like the author of that fic, or me or anyone else I know only have nightmares about.
I've seen this before in comics, for superhero stories. Granted they wait a good 20-80 years before using horrific points in history, But I just have to THINK about Batman: Death and the Maidens to feel sick to my stomach over the graphic exploitation of the fate of many female Nazi Deathcamp victims, and to juxtapose that against privileged orphan American white boy Bruce Wayne's pain is not cool.
None of this is cool at all.
