And now, to tackle
nightfalltwen's questions!
Your favorite pairing?
I'm not going to lie to y'all, I'm cheating on this one. I have two favorite pairings, one of which evolved from the other. My original OTP is Draco/Ginny, and I still adore them. Reading D/G fic is what got me into fandom -- reading the fabulous wit of
carrie_leigh way back when, as well as some other fantastic D/G writers. And D/G led me to writing in an RPG, since a group of writers I admired formed
si_muove_rpg. The rest, I think, is history.
Anyhoo! Draco/Ginny holds such a soft spot for me. I love a pairing full of snark and banter, and feelings that go from hate to not-so-much hate after all. The particular story I've chosen is a dialogue-only piece, which I wrote as a gift for
shy_of_reality in 2013 for a fest at
hp_humpdrabbles.
Title: Dances with Ferrets
Characters: Draco Malfoy/Ginny Weasley
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 915
Summary: Theirs is not an epic romance.
Author’s Notes: Written as a gift for
shy_of_reality as part of
hp_humpdrabbles '
Humpfest 2013.
Dances with Ferrets The other pairing I adore is Ron/Pansy. I think both characters hold a lot of potential as far as what a writer has to play with, and I've always enjoyed Ron's blustering worming under Pansy's skin. This particular story was written for the inaugural round at
fortheloveofhp (I also think it wins the award for longest story title) -- an honorable mention goes to
Getting Away with Murder (which is a complete 180 from this one), which I wrote a few years ago for
rarepair_shorts.
Title: A Choice You Have to Make (Pansy Parkinson's Guide to Getting Revenge on that Cheating Bastard)
Characters: Draco Malfoy/Pansy Parkinson, Ron Weasley/Pansy Parkinson
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 2,987
Summary: No one jilts a Parkinson.
Author's Notes: Written for the inaugural round at
fortheloveofhp. The prompt --
Mama’s Broken Heart by Miranda Lambert -- was like catnip. I couldn’t resist.

A plot you are particularly proud of?
An issue that I personally face is that I tend to be pretty critical of my own plots. A storyline I thought while writing was strong, I probably will think it's absolute crap a month or two later. I can't help but see the places where it's weak, and then I worry everyone else can see them, too. Does that make any sense? This story, though, I still like years later. It was a gift at
wizard_love, way back in the first year I ever wrote there (2011). After Fred's death, George is in therapy to try and deal with the grief of losing his twin. His therapist suggests he go on a date, Ginny sets him up, and I don't want to give the rest of it away. I was pleased with it when I finished, and I'm still fairly pleased with the results now. :)
Title: Sigh No More
Pairing: George Weasley/Luna Lovegood
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 5,200
Summary: A therapy assignment leads to much more than George had ever expected.
Author's notes: This was written for
downjune for the 2011
wizard_love fic exchange. Many, many thanks to my wonderful beta,

A story that you struggled with but gets lots of love, even though you don't see it?
Hrm. My initial thought was "Meet Me In the Red Room," but when I think about it, I didn't struggle with the writing -- I think I struggled more with the themes, and trying to make the sex hot without being repetitive. I can also understand why it's popular (and I'm glad it is! I'm glad people like it!), because there is a lot of sex. Rawr.
So, my choice for this one is the story that was the hardest to write for me in all my years of writing. I'm not going to say it gets lots of love, but it was fairly well received. I wrote this in 2011 for the Winter Exchange at
rarepair_shorts -- and I literally wrote it the day it was due because I struggled so, so much with what to do. Every word was like pulling teeth.

Title: White Blank Page
Pairing: Bill Weasley/Pansy Parkinson
Rating: R
Word Count: 2,419
Summary: Can you lie next to her and give her your heart, as well as your body?
Author's Notes: This was written for
restlessme as part of the 2010-2011 Winter Fic Exchange at
rarepair_shorts. Many, many thanks (and virtual cookies) to my beta,
elle_blessing, for her suggestions and notes. Couldn't have done it without you, sweets! This was a pairing I'd never written (or even thought about writing) before, so I hope it turned out okay. The title is based off the song
White Blank Page by Mumford and Sons.
