Her banishment won't be resolved because unless she comes back on the top of the tank a la Andrea comic style there is just nowhere to PUT her in this episode coming up.
Yeah, that's more or less the conclusion I've come to also, although I have to admit that they could surprise me this season, LOL.
I think it would be SO INTERESTING if just one time Daryl had to be the leader. I agree that it will absolutely be Rick, because his spectacular track record of unbelievably poor life decisions makes him the best man for the job, no question. *sarcasm exploding everywhere*
I think I said something similar in another comment (I'm so excited to be talking about this here!), but I am pretty much resigned to the fact that Carol did in fact kill Karen and David. I mean, I would love to be proven wrong, but that's where my money currently is. Consequently, I pretty much agree with you that not much is likely to come of Lizzie's weirdness. All of that may have been put there just to make us nervous, and it worked, at least on me.
I don't really have a prediction about the person feeding the walkers at the fence. There is also that issue of who was beheading people and labeling them, and at times I wonder if these two things could be related, but I'm certainly not good enough at predicting things to step out and say that's what I think is happening.
Ugh, the fucking Governor. He has been nothing but a boring psychopath since the second he showed up. I yawn every time I think about him, and the fact that we have devoted two entire episodes to his endless and meaningless backstory makes me want to punch everyone involved in the nuts. Grrrrrrrr. Sadly, I am again with you on the idea that this next ep could very well end with him still alive and on the run. I just . . . really don't know.
One thing I am super curious about is how long they'll play the prison group fractured, if indeed that's what happens after this episode. There are just so many what-ifs!
They could have taken the Governor someplace interestingsubversivegrrlNovember 29 2013, 23:33:49 UTC
After the 1st of the two Governor episodes, I ran down my reactions as: 1) Please tell me they're not going to spend an entire hour on the governor 2) Please tell me they're not going to spend an entire hour REHABILITATING the governor 3) Holy crap, he's taking his little family to the prison 4) Whoa. That could actually be pretty cool.
Rather than having him hook back up with Martinez and re-forming another mini-army, don't you think it would have been FASCINATING to have him show up at the prison as "Brian", with Lily, Meghan, and Tara in tow, and ask for sanctuary? No way they would have just shot him down in cold blood while in the company of a child... I just thought the possibilities that could be spun out of that act of faith were much, much more interesting than him getting about a five-minute reprieve from being The Big Bad and then going right back to his former nutso ways.
Re: They could have taken the Governor someplace interestingleigh57November 30 2013, 02:52:46 UTC
I just ranted over on tumblr re: my feelings about Rick, and in a lot of ways my feelings about the Governor are not dissimilar. I realize a ton of people find him super interesting but I'm not one of them and never have been. If you want to sum up my reaction to him, it would be of his face as he shoots all the Woodbury people. That kind of batshit craziness just isn't interesting to me, and I certainly didn't want another two eps of it only to figure out that OH HEY, THE GOVERNOR IS BATSHIT INSANE. Oy.
I can't claim to have a single idea what they're thinking at all. I truly wish they'd devoted half this much thought to what could have been ten fascinating storyline options that could have come out of the Rick/Carol mess. BUT NO. Sigh. But again, as I said on tumblr, I need to recognize my own bias. The fact that I find both Rick and the Governor mind-numbingly boring certainly doesn't mean that everyone does!
Re: They could have taken the Governor someplace interestingsubversivegrrlNovember 30 2013, 15:46:18 UTC
I don't find *him* so interesting as I do the possibilities of taking an unredeemable character and testing whether he can be salvaged after all. Or even putting him in as a fox in the henhouse, where he gets taken in as part of a package deal with L/M/T and *then* reverts back to his Evil G persona.
What I really don't understand is why they bothered with that little side-journey of making the Gov even marginally human again if they're just going to take him back to being His Royal Craziness. And I hope L/M/T don't pay the price for having adopted him. They may not be smart (srsly, how do you manage to *survive* the first 2 yrs of the ZA w/o figuring out that the only thing that puts them down permanently is a headshot?), but no one deserves that.
I feel a little bad for Rick, because the writers can't seem to figure out what they think his damage is. He gets to spearhead whatever whacked-out direction they decide to steer things.

I honestly feel as if this is SO mature of you, because the 1% of me that wishes to be an adult about this agrees with you. Rick's getting dumped with the bad writing as much as Carol is this season. I mean, locking her out of the car as a way to let her know she didn't get to come back with him? That's just CRUEL. And for all his sort of weirdness, I don't remember him ever being deliberately cruel to one of their family members. So it's just upsetting on a whole lot of levels.
I agree that the question of what you can come back from is super interesting. I just wish they were exploring it in a different way it all. And I realize we ALL wish that. *sighs*
I'm actually looking forward to them getting out of that Goddam prison!!!
This show, regardless of Carol and Daryl and Carol's banishment was getting stale. They have been at the prison too long.
It will be good to have them on the road again.
One of the things that I find very interesting/ironic is that if the spoilers are right and Carol and Tyrese end up together with Mika and Lizzie then either a)Tyrese has no clue that Carol killed Karen and David b) he has forgiven her (which could totally happen with the OOC writing we have seen) c) they are 'together' like they were in the comics
I had forgotten that the Comix Carol was with Tyrese for awhile. I really really hope THAT is not a plot twist they are going to pull on us. Not because I can't handle another person with Carol (well I can't actually it makes me want to throw my computer out the window) but that it would just be so ODD!!!
I just can't figure out how the writers are going to reconcile this. I just don't get it.
I get that Hershel has to die. someone major has to. Personally I wish they would off Bob and Glenn because I can't stand either of them but I get that someone has to go.
I just want to see SOMETHING that isn't OOC. I just want Michonne to chop the Governor into little pieces.
I just want Carol and Daryl to reconnect.
I just want Rick to say he's sorry.
Is that too much to ask??
You know it's so fascinating to me that this show has AMAZING ratings - the highest ever and yet if you break it down it has been very very uneven since the first 6 episodes. It's like it can't decide what it wants to be. And I am so very tired of Rick. God I just want him to be just someone else.
This male angst a la Hamlet is driving me up the wall.
In Sons of Anarchy there is a lot of that as well but it is so well balanced with the women in the show and with multiple storylines that you never feel like it's just all about one whiney male character.
I guess I am also getting tired of the massive PLOT HOLES that you could drive a tank through.
Seriously - Georgia must be the tiniest place in all of the north american continent. There is just NO WAY the Governor would end up at the prison. There are so many things that would be going wrong by now with the entire world going to shit. No one has addressed that gasoline does not keep well. It has a definite shelf life before it's unusable. I think this would be interesting to explore instead of the endless supply of gas that the group keeps finding.
Ok I think I have ranted enough.
I'm stoked to be here. I'm going to be hanging here during the finale. I just DO NOT WANT to be on Tumblr much until it's over.
I do not want to deal with our little ray of sunshine. If things go the way that I think they are going to go I think it's going to be the "I was right and you all are deluded suckers" show for quite some time. NOT looking forward to that let me tell you.
Thanks again for providing a Chandra free space for all of my Carol and Caryl feels as well as my pre mid and post episode heart attacks!!!
I made a snorty noise when I got to the sentence about wanting Rick to be someone else, because YES. I have been bored out of my mind by his constant manpain since the first season, and they never move his storyline anywhere. He just wanders around looking deep in thought and talking really slowly (I'm sorry but not everybody in the South talks that way, ugh), AND HE NEVER MAKES A DECISION ABOUT ANYTHING UNTIL HE DOES AND IT'S A REALLY STUPID-ASS DECISION. Mostly I want to hit him in the face, but it's totally the writers who are doing this to him. I want to be invested in his relationship with Carl, because I'm a parent of a child who is only a touch younger than Carl is, but I just can't get there on account of my Rick hate. Grrrr, he's just so annoying.
I can't decide for sure who they're going to kill. I really do vote Hershel, as I've said multiple places, but I want to be wrong. I'd be cool with Maggie, Beth, Bob, or Glenn, but that's just me. Maggie annoys the shit out of me, but I understand that's just a personal preference.
And yes times ten million to the idea that if Daryl just swallows Rick's decision and continues being his lap dog, we're in for a world of pain from the trolls. Not looking forward to THAT at all, LOL.
Not Hershel, please!subversivegrrlDecember 1 2013, 19:53:57 UTC
If we have to kill someone, let's kill Bob. And if not Bob, then Beth. Beth just gets on my nerves. How does she keep surviving? Someone else can take care of Judith.
Re: Not Hershel, please!leigh57December 2 2013, 01:30:42 UTC
I feel like such a bad person whenever I want the person who happens to annoy me the most to get it, but that's just the way it IS, okay? So I really wish it would be Maggie. But I just don't think it's going to be Maggie. Oh, well. I so do not want it to be Hershel. And they could surprise us. But since it's TWD, I think someone from Team Prison is going to die and I think that when I finally do watch, I'm going to cry buckets of tears no matter who it is. UGH.
Yeah, that's more or less the conclusion I've come to also, although I have to admit that they could surprise me this season, LOL.

But alas, that moment is lost, methinks.
