Alicia kicking ass was awesome!!! It is so great to see her taking steps to gain more power for herself and do what makes her happy. And like...while it makes me uncomfortable how much Peter is connected with this because I kind of hate him, lol (I mean, he's an interesting character, but I still don't like him) it makes sense that that's how it is, because Alicia has made the choice to stay with Peter, and support him through his campaign, and that's a decision that is going to stay with her unless she decides to do something differently. What I really want for Alicia above all else is for her to be happy and fulfilled and to make the choices she needs to make for her best interest- and while of course her relationships with Peter and Will are going to affect her choices because people are not isolated and your relationships with other people will always affect your decisions to some extent, I feel like she's really working to do what she needs to do for herself. (I will keep it to this length because otherwise I will ramble way too much and also talk about the sad parts of the episode, lol)

Okay wait, Alicia got back together with Peter? I haven't heard a thing about this show since a couple of my friends were super into Alicia and Will a couple years ago, so I am way behind the times. But yay for female power and doing what you need to do. It's so fun when a show you love does something cool that opens up new and nifty character possibilities.
I'll just be over here in a corner sobbing because Carol. This is what I get for EVER loving a character who is a woman. *cries forever*

Alicia is in this weird place with Peter where it's like...she's chosen to stay with him and support him through his campaign, and they have been having sex at least sometimes (they did in last week's ep) but they still live separately, and I feel like it's (at least largely) mostly a professional/appearance-related decision that has led her to make this choice. Not that she doesn't still care about him to some extent, and is obviously still into him sexually, but to me, it's more of a "This choice will serve me best in my attempt to make life choices that will make me happy" rather than "I'm still in love with him and want to make it work". (There was also some mention of Peter wanting them to renew their marriage vows last season, I think? I can't remember, tbh.) I'm honestly not sure where things are going to go with Alicia and Peter and Will; while Alicia did say to Will that it was never meant personally that she was choosing to leave, I think it did play a big part in it, because she'd become a partner at Lockhart/Gardner and things were going pretty well for her there career-wise, but there were some scenes where she and Will had all this sexual tension, and I think she was realizing that she really needed to distance herself from him and that going with Cary and the other fourth-year associates to start a new firm would benefit her in multiple ways. IDK. This probably makes no sense >.>
*hugs* I'm so sorry about Carol, ugh. I really hope the writers will manage to salvage this storyline and take it in a good direction. *keeps fingers crossed*

What I like about your description above is that it's just . . . a woman making the decisions she needs to make for herself. Yes, there are men involved in her life, sure, but they're not necessarily the reason for her decisions and sometimes she even uses them in order to further her own agenda. I'm not saying this would make Alicia my favorite person in the world if I watched this show, but I am saying that I think it's cool to have a show out there that portrays a woman with all these nuances. And it made total sense!
Ugh, TWD. It's my own fault for letting myself fall this much in love with Carol, because the show truly does have a terrible history with women. Despite the rocking in a corner part, I am at least reserving a little judgment until the next few episodes play out, because I'm assuming there have to be at least a few things I don't know yet, but ugh. It's not looking good. Stupid TV! *hugs you*
