Oh man, is that just an unfortunate negative side effect of your travels to become an official lawyer person? Meh. I am so fortunate not to have to put up with any Republicans in my immediate family. My BIL is one, but I don't see him often and we have more or less reached detente. Plus, he's only a fiscal Republican and not a social Republican, and I find that this at least allows me to control some of the red rage.

Yeah, an unfortunate side effect, indeed. I'm leaving Wednesday to head to DC to visit friends so hopefully looking forward to that will keep me sane tomorrow. I could easily deal if it was just a matter of fiscal Republicanism, but alas, she is also a social Republican and that is what absolutely kills me. She buys into all the shit about the morning after pill causing an abortion, thinks birth control shouldn't be covered (even though she herself took it for many years), thinks I should have to carry a child conceived from rape, etc. I just cannot.

Yep, it's the social Repubs who induce red rage in me, not the fiscal ones. I disagree with the fiscal ones, but at least I can accept that they live in the world. Social Repubs? How can you . . . I cannot at all. The gay-hating and women-hating and totally bizarre ethical hypocrisy. The problem is that one of my most hated things in life is hypocrisy, and I have yet to meet a social conservative who isn't a hypocrite or at least doesn't like a lot of hypocrites. Damn people. Just live your own life how you choose to live it and let everyone else do the same.
