As some of you know, I joined columbusunderground.com a while ago. Its cool, giving restaraunt reviews, event happenings and news in and around Cbus. I highly recommend it. There are a lot of artists and shop owners and such that are a part of this website and chat about various things in the forums.
Anyway, In an effort to help promote Columbus as more than a "cow town" they have formed a group and have declared Columbus "the Indie Art Capital of the World". IMO, this is pretty cool. Are we really the indie art capital of the world? Probably not. Then again, is Austin really the "live music capital of the world"? I think that this could be a good way to generate positive press for the city and help to further a variety of the arts that we are fond/part of. There are further details at

They have said that all types of artists are welcome, and from what I've read that seems to include musicians, actors and writers. Its interesting, and I thought that there might be people who read this journal that would like to know.
