My neighbor put up a fence that appears to be a magnet for birds - this weekend included a conclave's worth of scattered cardinals, and a blue jay and a bluebird fascinatedly staring at each other, and half a dozen assorted birdies I, being rather inept at such things, couldn't identify.

Plus, there seems to be a nest of what looks a lot like eagles at the end of our block. And I think I might have seen owls again.

Also, my long-suffering baby lilac bush is about to bloom.
