The Gathering of Fabric

#1 rule of Golden D'Or: If you can't decide whether or not to go ahead and purchase a farbic for a wishlist project, grab the bolt and carry it with you in the store, so no one else can buy it before you make up your mind.

I found some pretty green striped fabric, with roses in the wide stripes, that would have worked nicely for the shooting gown from "Plunkett & Macleane." Didn't hold onto the bolt, which had roughly 10 yards, so of course by the time I decided to go head and grab it someone else had already bought half the fabric on there. Drat. There's another bolt with a golden background instead of the green, but the green is more appealing to me.

I did, however, pick up some fabric to add to the boots I bought for Hoth Leia, which are also going to be used for Leia's Jedi outfit from the ESB Infinities comic book. And at Wherehouse Fabrics over on Perth St., I found a really nice vinyl for her tabbards-blue-grey with a reptilian texture. Not exactly like what's drawn, but probably the best I can find right now, without stenciling my own. All that's left to collect, I think, is some brown cord or rope for her belt. And maybe a different shade of brown for the obi.

Never thought I would say this, but I'm actually kind of looking forward to running around as a Jedi next weekend. Mostly because it's still Leia, and I get to brandish a purple lightsaber. Not that that was predictable or anything...
