Random update
Yeah, I guess this would be considered pretty random... especially since I hardly did any updates over the semester. I dunno... haven't really been inspired to do LJ, but now that I'm home for break it beats staring at the wall.
So this semester went really well... classes were hard as always. Had to write more papers than usual which is annoying since i'm a math major... I always love Grant's argument that we shouldn't have to write papers since you don't see English majors working on math. Good point! Oh well at least they're done. Next semester should be a doozy... which is really awesome (sarcasm). UGH I'm still VERY stressed just because I have no idea what "extracurriculars" to do next semester. Many options, but I don't want to overwhelm myself (like I usually do) and not have a social life (which kinda happened this semester) so yeah. Maybe it'll help to lay out the pro's and con's:
1) Performing dance company- DEFINITELY doing this and DEFINITELY doing a hundred dances. Still not sure if I'm choreographing.
2) Choir- Pros: We might be doing some good music next semester and there are really nice girls I made friends with in the fall. Also would be nice to have done it for the full 4 years. Cons: Mary is annoying as hell. We do stupid events, and I wouldn't be taking it for credit.
3) an acapella group- Pros: I've always wanted to do one!!! This is pretty much my last chance. Cons: Rehearsals might conflict w/ dance company dances I want to do. Also who knows if I will actually make it in since they're generally hard to get into... also weekend gigs might conflict with work schedule and not making money = bad
4) LTC- Pros: Russ and Maris might direct Mattress, so they will make it awesome and fun to do. Show finishes in March so leaves rest of semester free.
Cons: Conflicts MAJORLY w/ dance company and not sure if I want to give the time comittment needed to do the first show (which is a lot of time). Also, Chorus Line was a nice show to go out on...
5) CC Church Choir- Pros: this might be the ideal singing opportunity. Only meets once a week and it's right before mass
Cons: You don't really get technique instruction or a lot of rehearsal time
So yeah... I'm pretty EHHHH about everything. BLARG! I need to decide in like the next 2 weeks :(
Ok enough of that... since I bet it's not very interesting to read about. Break has been pretty good so far. Grant's been gone for about a week so that sucks but he'll be back soon. Saw Phantom on the big screen..... I don't know. I have very mixed reviews about it. Overall I thought it was "good". Not great or bad, just good. I didn't love Christine. It was good she was a young girl for the part, but her eyes were kinda bulgy for me. Phantom's voice wasn't gentle enough. Sounded like he was pushing a lot in the songs. Masquerade scene was AMAZING! That was definitely favorite part of the movie. I also like the way the movie was actually done.. like the sequencing and such. And I liked the ending. All in all, it was good.
So this week... maybe some shopping, probably seeing Carolyn on Thursday, going out for Maris' 21st (yay!) so it should be a good week. :)

Oh, random last thought... it's 2005. Kinda weird to finally be in the year you graduate college in... whoa.
