Final Face Off Post of the Season

Aren't you all dying to know who won Face Off?

The final Face Off challenge was to create two knights, one representing life and light, and the other death and darkness. The models were these huge men who then competed, in full makeup, in an epic jousting/swordfight battle. It wasn't as cool as some other final Face Off challenges (like the Cirque du Soleil one) but it was all right.

Each designer also had to work with a knightly crest as their inspiration, and of course some past competitors came back to help. Drew's crest had a stag's head, and he was helped by George from this season, and Rayce, the season 2 winner. Cig's crest featured gargoyles, and he was helped by Sasha from this season and Rashaad, the season 6 winner. Dina's crest had an octopus wearing a crown, and she was helped by Stella from this season, and Nicole, the season 3 winner.

Drew, Life Knight:

It is remarkable, as the judges noted, how effectively Drew was able to convey 'deer' with just a few pieces.

Drew, Death Knight:

This one is a little more impressive, especially in the face area. It was interesting how Drew had to rethink the antlers on this look slightly, so that they wouldn't interfere with the fight choreography.

Cig, Life Knight:

On the one hand, the judges thought this was some of the best silicone work they'd ever seen. On the other hand, it's not really enough for a final challenge.

Cig, Death Knight:

I think the judges liked this one the best out of all the Death Knights. It is kind of epic, because this kind of creepy dead thing is what Cig does best.

Dina, Death Knight:

The sheer amount of detail on this thing, as well as the impeccable paint job, just blows me away. Like, every inch of it is covered in something, and all that something is just stellar.

Dina, Life Knight:

The judges weren't thrilled with all the different colors and bits on this one, but they were still blown away by all the detail. Glenn was especially impressed with the starfish, which Dina made from scratch, piping each and every dot onto it.

In the end, Dina was the winner!!! Her level of detail, fantastic craftsmanship, and, as Glenn said, "swinging for the fences" effort in these last two looks elevated her over the boys. <3 <3 <3 Queen Dina!

And speaking of my favs, I wasn't planning on doing any kind of blogging for the season of Project Runway All Stars that premieres tonight... But then I found out that Dmitri is going to be on it. There may be some comments, is all I'm saying.

tv, project runway, face off
