Harry Potter Pictures, Day 9

Most Likely to be a Professor: You mean besides Neville, who actually became one? And Remus? And Snape? This is a weird question, because I would definitely have said Hermione, but JKR said she went to work for the Ministry instead. And everyone thought Harry was going to become DADA professor, but he became an Auror, which is nice because it's what he wanted.

It's weird who my mind came up with, but hear me out.

LOL, even Draco is confused about being chosen for this.

Ok, so former Death Eaters as professors is hardly a new concept for the wizarding world (Snape, Karkaroff) and so I don't think his prior allegiance would be a problem. Especially given how he wasn't exactly fond of being a Death Eater by the end, and how his mother is basically the hero of Deathly Hallows (seriously, imagine how different that book might have gone if Narcissa hadn't lied to Voldemort about Harry being dead) I like to think people would give him a second chance. I also believe that McGonagall would carry on Dumbledore's legacy of forgiveness and totally hire him.

Draco is also certainly smart enough to be a professor. It's never implied (that I can recall) that he cheated or swindled his way through any of his classes, and even though he was a little prick about it, he did have a point about Hagrid being a totally incompetent teacher (UNPOPULAR OPINION: I'm not super fond of Hagrid from PoA on) which I am going to say means he placed  at least a little value on having competent ones.

The HP Wiki tells me that Draco was in N.E.W.T level Potions, DADA, and Transfiguration, and while Snape may have had something to do with the first two, there's no way McGonagall would let him into Transfiguration unless he was actually good at it. And he still had to pass all his O.W.L.s with proper scores to get into those classes. Add to that all the jinxes and curses he mastered, and he's definitely intelligent and skilled enough to be a professor.

Would Draco want to be a professor? I think he might, after his family's influence had (as it surely would) waned to the point that he might not be able to get a job elsewhere. And since he isn't as much of a jerk as he used to be and has a child whose education he's probably interested in, I don't think it's very far-fetched. Besides, even though he was a bully, he can't possibly be a worse teacher than Snape.

I also think that Draco might be attracted to Hogwarts as the place he shouldn't have left, the place where Dumbledore believed in him and (quite literally) saved his soul, and the place he might have felt somewhat beholden to, given that he kind of helped destroy it once or twice. I can absolutely see Draco teaching at Hogwarts.

As for what he would teach, either Potions, since it always seems to be taught by a Slytherin, it was probably his favorite class, and he did have an aptitude for it, or DADA, because who better than a former and reformed Death Eater to teach you about all the darkness in the world, how young people can fall into it, and how to defend against it? He could even roll this into some kind of motivational speaking (LOLOLOLOL) about how to defend against the dark arts with your ~heart~ as well as your wand. *insert hilarious Draco the Motivational Speaker gif here*

I didn't expect to write a whole freaking essay on this, but I wanted you all to see how Professor Draco is not as crazy of an idea as it seems at first.

P.S. Plus, if Draco teaches at Hogwarts he can visit his BFF.
