the words of a sick kid

So...I suppose it's been some time since I've written.

I currently sit here with a fever, sore throat, body aches and chills, headache, irritated ears, and stuffy nose. And the health center (after making me wait an hour, despite me having a prior appointment) only had me leave with instructions to drink fluids and that they can tell me tomorrow if I have something serious. Great...a whole day of not knowing what crap I'm dealing with.

This is killing my track season, cuz I've missed several practices for the cold I've been dealing with for a few weeks now. My hurdles will be awful.

Spring Break in Myrtle Beach with the track team was pretty kick-ass though. I love that team. We have a formal coming up after our first home meet at the end of march. I can't wait!

Systematic Bio and Ochem 2 are starting to take a toll on me. I'm actually holding my own in systematics, but I put so much effort into it that Ochem is dropping significantly. O well, I can deal with it.

I'm trying to pick classes for next semester. So far I have Cell Bio and Physics I for my bio requirements, and then Biblical Archaeology for my last Honor's class. But thats only 12 credits, plus the 2 credits I'll get for the Australia wrap up project. Unfortunately the only other bio course I would want to take thats offered this semester is the same time as Cell Bio...therefore I'm SOL. I may not take another course, since I'm finding that I've got most of my requirements covered and I'm in good shape for fitting everything else I need in later. After cramming 6 classes this semester...probably my most difficult ever, I'm entitled to a break.

I'm also going to be working on campus this summer helping one of my professors with their research. My two project possibilities are either studying sea urchin embryo's and the effects of activating and deactivating certain genes, or going out in the field to catch and study wolf spiders. We'll see...The good part is that it's flexible with me being gone in June for Australia. And I'll be making about 2800...almost 3 times what I made at camp last summer. Score!

Meanwhile...I'm just another sick kid wishing my mom was here to take care of me, and that college would go away. News flash: college does not stop or wait on sick kids. I will still be working my butt off in Ochem lab tomorrow.

Later kids!
