Self preservation or forgiveness:
This is an interesting question, self-preservation or forgiveness? I would say forgiveness. Why? Because if one cannot forgive others, then what is the point of continuing, of preserving one’s self.
People make mistakes, it is the way we are. No one is perfect, including myself. I have seen others make mistakes and then lose many things, including lives for it. Eventually, there has to be a point where the past stays in the past, and we move on with life. The only way to do that is to forgive.
To me, self-preservation only leads to loneliness. The person is so wrapped up in their selves that they tend to see no others, until there is no one left.

Loss of Virginity:
*laughs for a good 10 minutes when he sees this challenge*
Okay, which time? Man or woman? Me being pleasured, or someone pleasuring me? Me entering someone, or someone entering me? Or how about species? Man or Elf or a combination of them? Or what about 3-somes or greater numbers? Most of these were taken by different people at different times. Lets just say I lost my virginity many many years ago, and leave it at that.
*smiles Elladan* I still love you, and the first time with you I felt like I was a virgin.

Important Decision:
Elrond pulled Legolas aside after the council that determined what was to be done with the one ring. He offered him a place among the fellowship, 9 beings of different races from Middle Earth on a quest to destroy the one ring.
Legolas knew he had a choice, the most important choice of his life, either go with the fellowship or go back home to Mirkwood. He could not make that decision on a whim. Elrond gave him a couple of days to think about it.
During those days, Legolas thought about all the pros and cons of his decision. He knew the quest on the Fellowship would be a hard but it was very important. Whereas, there was much trouble in Mirkwood, and his father could use his help in battling the evils that plagued their lands. The spot on the Fellowship could be given to any elf, and his father has many to call upon to his aid. In the end, he chose the more important task to Middle Earth, and that was to join the Fellowship of the ring.
