MSFest was awesome! Just got back, ears ringing like all hell... brutal :D
Got this close to Karnivool... got stood on by thirty thousand people to do it, but I did it *heart* They rocked the living shit out of the place. Evermore were good, but nothing super stood out about them. I liked their older stuff they did, Light Surrounding You and such.
Kate Miller-Heidke was brilliant and lovely, and sung a sung involving all the stupid apps on Facebook... and then took a photo of the crowd for her facebook page, lol :D And she sung 'Dreams', which was from her back catalogue and I'd never heard before today. (It was fantastic.) I felt the ground shake when I heard it! Or maybe I was just standing too close to the speakers :P
Umm, who else.... missed Black Japan :( but heard them from outside, will look them up sometime)... Short Stack ROCKED THE FUCK OUT, YES THEY DID. WHO DID SHORT STACK DID OH YEAHHHHHHHH :D
The local djs were pretty okay too, but only heard a little of those; didn't really go near the MOS stage much. Oh yeah! Jessica Mauboy. I didn't go much on her but hey, the crowd went super-crazy. Same with Parkway Drive, who were screamin' fantastic :)
And if the crowd was crazy for Parkway, then when Karnivool played 'Roquefort' the crowd HULKED OUT.
Missed out on seeing Bliss & Eso and Eskimo Joe... because someone who was giving me a rode home didn't believe me when I said 'No pass outs' means you can't get back in once you leave. Whereupon Nameless Person had to wait around until the Karnivool set which I will admit I was not leaving until I saw. :|
I got as good photos as can be expected from a short person taking photos from under some screaming guy's armpit in the second row. That is to say... not so awesome, but hey. :p
Picked up some srly overpriced t-shirts and a stupid stupid cowboy hat, which I love. Was heaps of sombreros and Blues Brothers glasses too :3 Got crazy sunburnt around where my sunglasses were. Neary ded from teh moshing.
Walked out with an armload of free crap and a raging case of tinnitus. In summary: Brutal.
And this t-shirt is sooooo comfy :D
