Hmmmm

I had a wonderful afternoon.

Riding in the car with Nora, Josh, and Clara was the best thing ever...we were listening to happy Outkast music (which was interesting), and smiling and laughing about anything and everything. We picked up a cake for Joel, and then Josh and I staged a super-secret card signing once we got to MC. People kept going out to sign and Joel just didn't catch on, he kept asking if everyone was going out for tacos or something, which was hilarious. So we ate mocha chocolate ice-cream cake, Joel got teary eyed saying how much he would miss us (the climbing team), and then we ate more cake. There was this relaxed feeling of comraderie that I'd not yet experienced with this particular group before, and it was just so goooood. And then we bouldered, I got one move away from the end on three problems (which I shall finish next time, no doubt about it), I met a nice girl from USF, and we climbed together for a bit. We all watched Tsipora pass her lead test, too, which was great, because one could tell she was so hyper and happy ('cause she passed and took this huge-ass fall).

I don't know. Having written this and then read it, it doesn't seem all that great in writing, but the feeling is so elusive and slight, yet it's still covering me like a thin veil thing.

I'm upset that Joel is moving away - I had the best experience ever having him as my first indoor climbing teacher. He is so patient, and full of laughter and impishness. He never got upset, and I learned some good technique from him, too. I'll miss Joel bunches. He talked about who our next intsructor is going to be, and the guy sounds pretty cool. He's been climbing and teaching youth to climb for a really long time, and judging from the picture we saw if him in a climbing magazine, he looks like he's got a good sense of humor. I'm excited to be working with someone who has had so much experience...Thursday can't come soon enough. There is also a possibilty that our climbing team will get to go on a trip this summer for some intense outdoor climbing. I'm more stoked than a log on fire, and I hope it will work out with the extremely packed schedule that seems to be slowly building. Wowee!

friends, climbing
