To Face The Great Of Kings

Jul 19, 2002 09:58

With haste, I inscribe this passage--for within the acceptance of my Father, I seek felicity.

There are few words to express the dishonor suffered as I cowered before the King Thranduil.

I feel it an eternity since the last I studied his noble face: ageless and serene, with yet centuries of wisdom within his gentle gaze. Alas, how this face fell expressionless--a sight unseen since the fall of Greenwood the Great. With my tales of betrayal and ill deeds upon the innocent retold, even I, the light hearted and jovial of The Fellowship, quivered with sorrow.

Though as I placed my bow down in poor spirit, a peaceful hand was set upon my shoulder. "For what you have done will come to pass, my son" he spoke--"I welcome your return, Prince Legolas".

To once again join the Eight Guardians on their quest against Sauron, is my sole duty.

And with pride flourished, I return to the modern Earth.
