Near was scared.
His eyes remained as blank as the situation allowed it, a determined look in them, but he was scared all the same. He'd seen people die in front of him, a reminder of how weak human flesh was. Dying was so easy, so fast-- it could happen in a single moment.
Holding his bandaged hand against his chest (too early to say good-bye, unfinished matters are still waiting), Near crossed Econtra's corridors as quickly as he could, struggling for his knees to be strong just for a bit longer.
