Today as I was leaving the Y, I ended up holding the door for
Danny Bonaduce. The insane normalness of this chance encounter made me start thinking about all the famous people I've seen here in LA. The following is the list (as much as I can remember) of RACHEL'S STAR SIGHTINGS.
At the Y
Seann William ScottAdam Busch - we had just finished watching season 6 of Buffy, so I kinda felt like I should hate him
Tim Russ - it drove me crazy trying to remember how I knew him -- his voice especially was so distinctive, and I kept thinking Star Trek, but I had no idea which one, or what his character's name had been.
Danny Bonaduce (although really I first saw him driving his red convertible past my school a few weeks ago).
At the grocery store
Nicholas Brendon (I suppose it could have also been his identical twin)
Lauren GrahamSandra Oh - chris actually saw her so it's not technically mine, but it was so cool I had to put it up here.
At work (Barnes & Noble) (in addition to quite a few famous authors)
Paulo CostanzoMandy Patinkin (I got his autograph)
Chris RockJustine Bateman I tried to find a book for her. No dice.
Holly Robinson Peete Sean Patrick Flanery and
Brenda Strong both came through my checkout line. Sean Patrick Flanery seemed pretty normal, but Brenda Strong was so tall, well-dressed, and well-spoken that it was just a little intimidating -- I suddenly became aware that my outfit clashed, and my hair was a little messy. Plus her speaking voice was really rich -- it's easy to see why it's one of the most recognizable on television today.
Other random places
Snoop Dogg, who was driving a yellow convertible for an event at Hollywood & Highland. I'm not positive, but I think it was
Ice Cube in the passenger seat.
Brad Pitt - on the Warner Brothers studio backlot.
Antonio Banderas and
Melanie Griffith, at his walk of fame ceremony.
I'm not sure if these count, but
Sarah McLachlan and
Tobey Maguire were both guests when Chris and I went to the taping of the
Jay Leno show last Friday (see aforementioned traumatic experience) (Just kidding -- traumatic experience is coming in the next day or so).
There's more, I know there are more, but of course I can't remember them right now. And I was going to tell you all about my hideously traumatic experience during the Tonight Show taping we attended, but I have to quickly learn a lot of music for my rehearsal in an hour... so that's later too.
